Story Sketch

Distopic future where Utah is at the epicenter of a civil war that has been inadvertently caused by the Mormon church. Various religious landmarks are barricaded and guarded by the Mormon army. Mormons have taken control of most aspects of life: police, military, food supply, media and entertainment. Maybe a part where the Mormon army is marching and singing onward Christian soldiers.

How did they cause a civil war though? Maybe they accidentally rile up followers to the point they attack some other group? Either religious or cultural. Gays and their supporters?

Mormon numbers would have to have increased exponentially. To the point where they outnumber all other religious groups. How would Mormons have figured a way to package their religion and sell it to the masses?
