This is probably the OS I'll go with for Chromebook.
Requirements
My System
Hardware ID: QUAWKS
Processor: Intel Bay Trail
Firmware update REQUIRED
Remove write-protect screw
Install SeaBIOS required
Use Etcher to create the bootable USB
Preparation
- Shut down Chromebook
- Remove screws from bottom of computer case
- Carefully pry the panel where the keyboard is inlaid using some kind of pry bar
- Locate and remove the write protect screw (is is wide, flat and silver colored)
- Replace the keyboard panel (be sure all edges are clipped back in place)
- Replace the case screws
- Press and hold Esc+Refresh then press the Power button
- When the screen appears that says "Chrome OS is missing or damaged", press Ctrl+D
- Allow developer mode
- The chromebook should automatically restart
- When it starts, follow onscreen commands until booted into developer mode
