Notes

In Photoshop, holding the H key while clicking and dragging activates birds-eye mode, which allows you to zoom out and back in to the desired location in the document.

A very helpful feature: assigning a color to specific layers in order to sort through them visually and filter them in the filter field in the Layers panel.

Converting a shape to a smart object allows you to place an image into it, acting almost like an image mask.

If you have a smart object with a series of images inside it, you can set up layer comps with each image visible. When you do this you can use the properties panel to rotate through the layer comps to pick the version you want.

It seems like it might be helpful to edit the toolbar for specific workspaces, because sometimes tools are not needed as much if ever. Editing the toolbar is done by clicking the "..." near the bottom. Can also change the keyboard shortcuts to activate the tools.

Changing the presets (default appearance of objects) can be kind of useful. Select a tool like Gradient or Rectangle and in the top left where the tool in use is shown, select the dropdown and click the gear icon, then click Preset Manager. This opens a window that allows you to go thru all the presets and edit them.

In Edit>Keyboard Shortcuts you can add, remove, or edit keyboard shortcuts. Convert to Smart Object could be useful as a keyboard shortcut. Ctrl+Alt+S might be available.

Apparently you can create a template that automatically fills in the metadata of a document. This is done from Bridge in the Metadata panel. Just check the stuff you want included, fill it in, and save it. You can apply the metadata template from Bridge or the specific app. From File>File Info in Photoshop, you can select the Template dropdown at the bottom to apply that automatically.

Create a separate library for each client! This is useful for keeping track of collateral, colors, fonts, etc. Can drag images from document to Libraries panel to add them.
