Recalls

Front Lower Control Arms

Safety Recall 9716H NHTSA Campaign No. 16V-593

The Problem:
Water may have been able to enter the front lower control arms. Driving on salted roads in winter would mean that water would contain salt. Salt water would cause corrosion which could eventually lead to looseness in the fitting of the ball joint. Result would be rattling noise, loss of steering control, and possible crash.

Status:
SOLVED

Mazda dealer Basney Mazda performed the repair

Air Bag Inflator

Safety Recall 1317F NHTSA Campaign No. 18V-717

The Problem:
The inflator could explode, causing sharp metal fragments to strike the occupants of the vehicle and cause serious injury or death. This is more likely to occur when the vehicle is exposed to high levels of humidity.

Status:
PENDING

Contact Mazda dealer as soon as possible to schedule the recall repair (FREE OF CHARGE). Dealer will provide alternate transportation while repair is being made. In the mean time, vehicle occupants should NOT sit in the front passenger seat.
