Work Wiki

Last modified by Justin Morgan on 2019/09/29 18:04

This can probably get archived since this never ended up happening.

I think I found the best wiki platform I'm going to come across. ShoutWiki uses MediaWikisoftware, is free to use, and does not impose very many limits on its users.

Now all I need to do is start writing pages. I might ask Kim if she has any materials that I can pull in for training, how-tos, and other random information.

The only problem I'm noticing is that some pages could start to get unwieldy. Is there an easy way to pull sections out and turn them into their own pages? Kind of like the TiddlyWiki feature, "Excise", only I don't want to transclude the content.

Things I Need To Figure Out

  • How to create/edit templates correctly (what kind of formatting is needed to do specific things? Check forums.)

Templates

https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Templates

  • Ad rep pages
  • User profile (as part of each user's page)
  • Ad process
  • Ad description
  •

Testing

Make a page just for testing things. This will give me a sandbox to link to pages that would otherwise be orphaned. I really need to start making templates and this will help get that going.
